Originally from the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, my journey in Australia began in 2014 when I first arrived on a scholarship to pursue my bachelor’s degree at the University of Wollongong. I had a relentless passion for accounting and finance, which helped me to excel in my academics. This later led to an admission to the Dean’s Merit list and an offer to be part of the prestigious Dean’s scholar program. My keen interest in the Australian taxation system and legislation grew when I started working in public practice whilst becoming qualified as a CPA. I relocated to Adelaide in 2020 and have since been working in the business advisory division of a reputed mid-tier accounting firm. Over the years, I have gathered invaluable exposure to a broad and diverse range of clients, giving me the opportunity to explore and experience the complexities of tax legislation at length. I am currently enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Applied Tax Law program offered by the Tax Institute Higher Education.
