Session 1 – Introduction to presenting
This session will build confidence and provide the foundations of effective presenting, particular for a tax setting. This includes understanding your audience, structuring your message, and delivering it with clarity and presence. Participants will explore the benefits of strong presentation skills and take part in a short, practical introduction exercise to put the concepts into practice.
Session 2 – Presenting in meetings (and to Boards)
Focusing on smaller, high-stakes settings, this session will cover how to communicate concisely and with impact when addressing meetings, executives, or boards. Participants will learn to frame messages for decision-makers, handle questions confidently, and practise delivering updates in a time-sensitive environment.
Session 3 – Tax Technical presentations
This session will explore how to present tax technical information in a way that is engaging and easy to follow. Participants will learn strategies to simplify content, use clear examples, and avoid jargon overload, and gain tips and tricks on how to deliver an excellent tax technical presentation. In this session you will select your own tax technical topics and go away to prepare your own presentation for the next session.
Session 4 – Presenting your tax technical presentation
In the final session, participants will deliver their prepared tax technical presentations to the group, applying the skills developed throughout the program. They will receive constructive feedback from facilitators and reflect on their progress. Then the next steps will be encouraging you to find an opportunity to present at a future Tax Institute event.
