2. What subjects are included in the CTA Program?

The CTA Program consists of four core subjects, each building your expertise:

  • CTA1 Foundations: Establishes core knowledge in GST, CGT, FBT, and TASA 2009. This is available in two formats every Study Period:
    Online mode: Delivered online over 12 weeks with live interactive webinars presented by expert guest lecturers.
    Online intensive mode: Delivered online over 6 weeks with pre-recorded webinars.
  • CTA2A Advanced: Explores complex tax scenarios and solutions. Offered every Study Period in both online and online intensive modes per CTA1 Foundations.
  • CTA2B Advanced: Focuses on practical application and technical analysis. Offered every Study Period in both online and online intensive modes per CTA1 Foundations.
  • CTA3 Advisory: The capstone subject, where you apply skills to real-world tax advisory cases. This subject is offered in two formats:
    Online mode: Delivered online over 24 weeks in Study Period 1 each year.
    Online intensive mode: Delivered online over 12 weeks every Study Period.

3. Who is eligible to enrol in the CTA Program?

To enrol in the CTA Program, you need to meet specific entry requirements:

  • Completion of a recognised tax or accounting qualification (degree or diploma) or equivalent experience.
  • 36 months of relevant Australian tax or tax law experience for entry to CTA3 Advisory. Please refer to the website for experience required for CTA2A Advanced and CTA2B Advanced.
  • If English was not the language of instruction for your six years of secondary education, you must meet minimum English language requirements.
