SMEs Expanding Offshore

Source: QLD

Published Date: 27 Apr 2010

In light of the current review of Australia's international taxation system, SMEs are increasingly looking to take advantage of offshore business and taxation opportunities. This may often start with relatively small scale exporting ventures overseas that gradually expand into significant offshore operations as businesses mature.

This event focused on issues that taxation advisers must be aware of when advising their clients in this evolving process - from the first "toe in the water"? to fully fledged operations. It is essential that tax practitioners advising in this area are able to identify and plan for potential tax issues at the outset so that their clients do not end up paying more tax than they should as a result of their overseas operations.
