Published Date: 25 May 2017

As we approach the end of another financial year, taxpayers will be looking to their advisers for assistance in completing their year-end transactions; typically involving the transfer of property into or out of trusts and SMSFs and entity restructures. The pivotal issue for many of these transactions is whether there are any transfer duty exemptions or concessions available to the taxpayers. This covered a practical approach to assisting advisers on:
  • determining the availability of common exemptions and concessions
  • to manage the assessment process (including liaising with the Office of State Revenue) to get the best and most efficient outcome for their clients.
