As part of this session, the presenters worked through a case study on the income tax, GST and State Tax implications associated with a typical Queensland BTR investment project. This included key deal issues such as the GST treatment of rents and credits and the managed investment trust regime. The session also explored key commercial considerations for domestic and foreign investors and the key tax levers that could be pulled to facilitate greater investment in BTR in Queensland.
