This year, the professional conduct of tax agents and tax practitioners has been in the political and community spotlight. This has culminated in the Government’s recent announcement to introduce a package of measures and undertake wide-sweeping reviews of the interaction of government, government agencies, professional associations and practitioners.
Drawing on the expertise and insights of the panellists, from an accounting and legal perspective, this session covers:
- Examine a range of ethical dilemmas facing practitioners
- Consider how practitioners can manage their role as guardians of the tax system while fulfilling their legal obligations to their clients
- Look at the role of the TPB and the professional associations in sanctioning and disciplining unprofessional conduct of practitioners; and
- Examine how practitioners should manage conflicts of interest.
